We love the outdoors, so naturally our impact is imperative to us. We use natural, more sustainable materials, like hemp, wool, leather, and waxed canvas.
- Hemp – Our hemp canvas is SBP® certified, a sustainable biodegradable product. Our hemp webbing is organically grown and 100% chemical-free. Hemp fibers are longer, stronger, and more mildew and UV resistant than cotton. It’s been said that hemp doesn’t wear out, it wears in. Hemp uses less water and produces higher crop yields than cotton. Hemp is also naturally resistant to most pests and disease, and combined with a high growing density leaves pesticides and herbicides almost unnecessary.
- Wool – We use trusted Pendleton blanket weight and eco-wise wools made from pure virgin wool for both style and function.
- Leather – We use bison leather for its unique strength and aesthetics in accents.
- Waxed Canvas – Our waxed canvas is impregnated with paraffin wax for a water/moisture resistant finish. It’s a more natural alternative to fully synthetic materials and builds character with age unlike any other fabric.
Owner / Designer / Artisan
Harmonic Goods products are designed and created by Brad Bergslien of Duluth, MN. Brad’s a maker strongly influenced by his passion for the outdoors. He began sewing in 2012 after discovering an old industrial sewing machine in the family. Around the same time a course at the University of Minnesota Duluth on sustainability and sustainable management had left him inspired to find new business opportunities for solving growing environmental problems. A few years of experimenting and an upholstery apprenticeship later he decided to bring his work to market; which brings us to today.
